With their roots in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Melbourne-based band The New Monos combine inspiration from their South American heritage and diverse musical experience with the flavour of contemporary Buenos Aires, mixing Reggae, Folklore, Cumbia, Rock, Rumba, Hip-hop and Latin beats, all expressed with the passion of the Tango.

Vanessa Estrada - Singer Songwriter:

Hailing from Chile with residence in Melbourne, Australia, Vanessa Estrada is a driving force in Melbourne's Latin music scene. Her music is compelling and moves the heart, soul and body. Mixing contemporary latin folk rock, rhythmic guitars and powerful vocals, and drawing inspiration from Chilean and international artists such as Violeta Parra, Pascuala Ilabaca, Vanessa's sound is an eclectic mix of melodies and instruments with a contemporary approach. Offering a unique act including traditional instrumentation from the Andes, such as Charango, Quenas and Pan Flutes, traditional dances and visual projections, offering a whole landscape of colors and sounds. Multifaceted in the focus of her art, singing to the water, the moon, the sun, with a conscious message about the environment, nature, life, and love, Vanessa transports you through her soundscape with strength and elegance. After the release of her second single "Agua Libre", which has been nominated for Music Victoria Awards 2022 under the MAV Diasporas category, and touring in Chile, Vanessa is currently working on her debut album, with a team of producers and artists from Chile and Australia.
